Context is Key: Identifying Where and When Mobile BCC Can Be Successful

Panel Presentations: Learning from Failure
Why are we afraid to talk about failure? Debunking the taboo, these panelists will present why certain digital health implementations didn’t work and what they learned for implementing future programs. Highlighted will be deployment of a SMS-based ANC implementation in Nigeria and a behavior change communication pilot from the President’s Malaria Initiative Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (PMI AIRS) Project in Mali. Several key themes that will be explored will be addressing cultural practices and barriers when implementing a digital health solution as well as target audience acceptability and the importance of partnerships.
Presented by Ashley Thomas, Senior Analyst / Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Abt Associates.
